Spring Home Maintenance of Your Air Conditioner

Don’t Forget Spring Maintenance for Your Air Conditioning System
As I recently discovered, the best energy conservation strategies wear out.
Spring is a good time to do a good home maintenance check-up, no matter what kind of energy your home uses.
Here in south Texas we are enjoying a short season I call “free weather.” With weather beginning to heat up down here, we have had occasion to use the air conditioner a couple times.
When the air conditioning unit didn’t work, we called our air conditioningc service company to check things out. I had visions of having to replace the air conditioning unit, a little item that finds no place in my budget this year.
That’s when I found out about the ants.
Yes.
Ants.
Who knew?
Seems insects are irresistibly drawn to particular frequencies. So a huge ant convention took place in our air conditioning “contactor,” disrupting necessary electric current.
The serviceman, Ray, took care of the ant convention and got my home air cool in short order.
Before the weather heats up where you are, have your air conditioning system serviced. A properly working unit will work more efficiently.
