Can We Take Advantage of This Raging Solar Energy?

Our area of Texas recently set a new record: The driest 22-month stretch in recorded history. While our earth (and our aquifer) desperately needs rain, we are in no short supply of solar energy. I just wish we were in a position to take advantage of it for our home energy needs!

Even with conservative energy practices in place, my air conditioner runs almost constantly during the day.

Last fall I attended the annual Renewable Energy Roundup and saw a vendor selling an air conditioner which operated on solar energy. But I am unable to locate that information.
