Solar Energy Advantages to Your Bottom Line

Saving you some money is only one advantage to using solar energy.

How much does a solar energy system cost? Akeena Solar says, β€œAt least $18,000 after solar energy rebates and incentives (for 3kW).”

Some argue that given the up front cost of solar energy installation, it is less expensive to just pay your electric bill every month.

Indeed, the cost of a solar power system prevents my own purchase of a system at this point.

Yet, even though payback could be as much at 15 years away, having no electric bill is, in a sense, payback enough. The cost of electric energy from conventional sources (coal) will only increase in coming years.

Having no monthly electric bill is a distinct advantage of a solar energy source, even with a long payback for the solar energy system.

What advantages to solar energy do you see?
